Off Topic - My bias is that one of these virtual show rooms (like the Mercedes post) will work. But I have to confess that I stopped at an Auto Nation franchise where they have their entire inventory on video kiosk. The salespeople told me that they have to catch the customer before they get to the touch screen, otherwise the sales cycle slows way down. The sales folks put the buyer into a golf cart and drive around the lot until they fall for some cream puff. Maybe Mercedes customers are different; they already know that they're going to fall for something that's butt-ugly - The issues are how massive the grille will be, and what color. Meanwhile the Virtual Interface Architecture initiative shows CPQ, INTC, and M$FT converging on the SGI space. While CPQ uses MIPS for their top-end and low-end products, and SGI starts using INTC and NT. What's this all mean?
