OFF TOPIC (wash sale)

Concerning the question of wash sales. ie. Selling shares at a loss in an individual brokerage account and buying the same companie's shares as a replacement in an IRA. In the opinion of my accountant, who is a CPA and has been at this for some time, and is usually conserative. This does not violate the provisions of a wash sale. He claims the the IRA is a seperate entity even though I direct it. In his opinion, it would be the same as my corporation buying the shares. I control the corp. but the event is seperate. When I asked if further research was necessary he told me it wasn't.
Of course you must have the availble funds in the IRA to this but it looks like it maybe a legitimate strategy. Does anyone have different information? What a sorry state of affairs when you have such a complicated tax system.

Good Luck
