Re: Shorts and hedge funds

What if the big short seller is a hedge fund? This would explain why the serious selling pressure with the big 100M share blocks offered on the ask side. This fund would want to keep the stock down till the 31st since they get compensated on the funds performance. Take this morning as an example, the stock opens higher and the buyers are moving it up. Not a seller in sight. All of a sudden, the short is offering 110M for sale. Almost immediately, the buyers disappear and the stock is forced back to unchanged. If the short wanted to lock in his gains and cover, the stock, IMO, would move up 30-40-50% easy. There are very few legitimate sellers out there.

sincerely,

Scott
