It'd only be funny if they lacked the self-awareness to know why they shouldn't be calling themselves that. And I'd say that that'd be fair game for conservatives. Frankly, if the Tea Party hadn't started out calling themselves teabaggers, and had opened with "Let's Teabag the President," while actually understanding the underlying meaning, that would be pretty clever.

They did for quite a while. And they still wear stupid tea

No. Sex can be funny. Being mentally handicapped is not. I stopped calling people "retards" as an insult in high school when I realized it wasn't OK. I made many a teabagging joke prior to the Tea Party forming... it's actually made teabagging comments less funny now because they're old hat!
