David:

NRI has great products and IMO will not go belly up. New technology generally takes a while to gain acceptance, i.e., the IDX/Orcles product. Part of the strength of NRI is that it is supported by CAI, Unisys, giants companies with long coat-tails. Consequently, NRI will be able to get MONEY.

I agree with Randy that in the long run the biometric play is s/w and not h/w. IDX appears to be in a catch up position, i.e., buying BAT for a mere $5M if my recollection serves me correctly. The real question is what did IDX really buy as $5M is not a whole lot of money. Does BAT have any products rivaling NRI?

IMO, NRI is so far ahead of everyone in s/w that the No. 2 position belongs to the Market. The Market, such as it is, should start to catch up after the year end sales for tax loss.
