That's harsh. She was busted for drunk driving; not murder.
One leads quickly to the other and shows a serious condition that neglects the safety of others. I just watched my own brother graduate from an AA program Wednesday and get his coin and pin. He has lost his job, wife and after 6 months of treatment gets 90 days in jail. I have very little respect for drunks that commit DUI - and I do have a friend that lost his 10 year old son to a 19 year old drunk driver in LA after 5 convictions of his own.

So it's not harsh - these habitual DUI offenders are extremely dangerous people.

Please let me assure you that I don't think a DUI is something to joke about. However, I am not sure it warranted a person getting fired or forced to resign. I am assuming this is her first DUI........but if this one was one in a series, then I would have a different stance.

Congrats to your brother btw.
