That would tend to support the explanation that the winners do so because of skill relative to the non-winners I suppose. Or that most contestants have themes (bigger vs smaller, those with sales vs those without, FDA decisions vs not, trial results vs not, picks and shovels vs not, etc.) and the themes dominate up and down relative to sector., which makes sense. It also supports that the worst performing stocks, which are by definition lower weighted, are probably taken as high risk potential fliers, and that some contestants fill up on them.
