I am not familiar with his P&L and size of his farm but my understanding is that the workers compensation is relatively low. What you mention is exactly the Russian problem, lack of capital and willingness to invest. Sabotage is also prevalent out of pure jealousy. That is also why he works alone and does not want partners. The agricultural potential of Russia is huge they have a shortage also of silos of all kind if cold storage or grain silos and very bad roads. This is where Putin failed miserably and that is why his economy is tanking, small agrarian business are closing people are leaving and fell miserable to bust moral he went on military adventure otherwise he would have been kicked out sooner than later. I do not want to go on on a rant but doing there honest business the way we are used too is impossible everywhere you need to leave a stuffed envelope
