That is true, however, making few stops does make the line profitable. It is one of the problems with using tax dollars -- everyone fights for a piece of "their" (actually "our") money.

But I understand. The financial implications don't even enter into your calculus. The potential for a route to pay for itself or not just isn't something you're interested in. I get that.
