I hit the coin shop in Wausau on Saturday. The only junk silver in stock was 15 40% silver halves and 5 80% Canadian quarters. I picked up 3 Canadian halves in excellent condition for $5 a piece. The total for the whole works was $35 US, so I paid $7 an ounce I figure for the 5 ounces of silver these coins comprised. I believe things have already heated up.

I hit the second hand stores and picked up plated silver and a little sterling too with perhaps 7 ounces of silver melted down for about $21 US. I think my focus will be there for awhile. AOL has spot silver at 5.99 this morning. WOW!
