The most credible evidence I've seen in the entire thing is a conversation taken from the background discussion in one of the popular videos. The guy, clearly unmotivated to lie about it, totally backs up the officer's account of events:

"So then he ran, police got out and ran after him. So the next thing I know he coming back towards police ... police had his gun drawn already."

He then goes to explain -- "I'm thinking that the police missing" ... "Police fired shots ... the next thing I know I think he missed him. The police shot him. Next thing I know I think he missed him. Then the dude started running kept coming towards the police."

I haven't concluded anything. But the evidence suggests he was facing the cop when he got shot, not running away.
