Pkrbkr, The lower classes will backfill into those spaces vacated by the upper classes. Volume will drive lower end prices down (Or reduce the inflation) regardless of what level of housing is built. I don't get what you're saying. What spaces are being "vacated" by the upper classes? SF is experiencing a huge influx of new wealthy residents. Normally this should be a blessing, but the libtards in this city consider it a curse because of rising rent and poorer residents being forced to move out as a result. Increased supply and volume should lower the average rent over the long term. However, the gap between the rent for new construction and the rent for lower-income, rent-controlled neighborhoods is so huge that it would take a lot of volume before that gap is ever bridged. Despite all of this, however, increased supply is the only long-term solution that will work. The other solution is to actively discourage people with money from moving to San Francisco, i.e. become another Detroit. Tenchusatsu
