I'm with your thinking, unfortunately, our society is not. My first major in college was philosopy, then psychology. It's difficult to build on the knowledge and wisdom from the past when you are totally unaware of it.

I agree..

My son graduated in December with a BA in Africana Studies and a minor in Music

Got hired full time by the University to continue his work/study job

He is the IT person for the on campus PBS outlet

Not what he studied, but what he knows...
