I reminded you guys again and again of the fact, which quite early in this conflict came up, but hasn't really been addressed by the media since then:

All energy and water supplies from Russia pass through SE Ukraine to Crimea, thus Putin need by all means control of SE Ukraine.

This is his minimum plan A so to say, all the rest for now being BS.

Putin must obtain full control of the pipelines to Crimea passing through South East Ukraine, period.

And he will not calm down until this has been achieved.
