Warnings of tsunamis can be obtained on Cyberphones. That's how warnings are needed.

Sounds sexy until you look at the problem all cell systems have in a large earthquake.

Communications breaks down when the system has damage.

Happened here in 2001 during the Nisqually earthquake in Western Washington.

The cellular systems collapsed. All of the NOC's were damaged and critical microwave and LL service went down.

My communications system never went down.

Millions of us around the world have been using it for many, many decades.

Vastly more reliable in a disaster than any cellular service.

Can you guess what it is?

I handled health and welfare radio traffic for almost 48 hours after the quake on HF and VHF.
