Maurice; My ideology is pragmatism. Any person on SI who thinks they understand the science of GW is fooling themselves - unless they are trying to deceive. I don't know the science and I would be willing to bet heavily that you don't know either. ...........So here is how my thinking goes; there are many more people today than ever before. Surely you can agree with that. To think we can populate the world with this many and not have any impact is as far as I am concerned dreaming. Surely you can agree that MAYBE we have an impact. So maybe the impact is GW? If it is GW and we do nothing we are screwing only ourselves. Theoretically the danger to us could be huge - that is what most scientist say. Soooooooooo Maurice, just in case, let's do what makes sense anyway - even if it turns out there is no or little GW. Conserve energy where we can, use less of the dirty energy because we know there is health issues, and so on. ........In fact Maurice we are doing some of that now and it isn't - and never will ruin our economy. Change it yes, ruin it, oh gawd do people really buy into that shit? Do what's easy and makes sense anyway!..........And one more thing; what do you think our world will look like when the Chinese and the rest of the world consume as much energy as we do?
