Yes, born in the Richmond hospital on Dec 7, 1941 and graduated from Richmond union high school in 1959.

The police used to line up gang members three around the telephone polls in front of the school after school.

We could not have night football games. Too many fights.

The shockers gang was looking for me for a year because I broke up with a gang leaders sister. That was scary. But I often had someone looking for me. Usually a girl was involved-lol. We fought for the females..

The poor and black folks lived on the other side of the train tracks. It was classic racism and poverty.

Why I feel I know he power of education. Education got me out of there and had it not been available to me, god only knows what would have happened to me?

And had I been black, I doubt anything could have saved me given the power of racism to keep a man down; and why I have never tolerated it for a second even among relatives.

I have seen the pain and suffering up close and personal.
