You do realize that it wasn't Obama that traded those guys away, but the military? And the military always negotiates. Would you prefer we let our POWs rot in prison indefinitely? Besides, they would have had to be released by the end of the year anyway. Rules of war and all of that. It limits how long you can retain military prisoners after you end a war. Might as well have gotten something for them.

Granted, I realize you have no problem with this country committing war crimes. So I imagine you would have argued we keep them forever.

Oh, they count. But events do tend to intervene. Want a list of campaign promises Smirk made and never even tried to address once in office? One hint, remember when Cheney dropped the F bomb on the Senate floor? Or his pledge to veto pork-laden bills?
