I don't know anything about that. I do know that Reagan enlisted the help of Iran to defeat Carter.

The closest American allies to Russia today are the conservatives. Like you, they line up to blow Putin at every opportunity. Some even openly wish he were president of the US.

So when does he follow their advice instead of his Iranian advisor?

And who might that be? The only president I know of who might have had an Iranian adviser was George W. Bush. He knocked off Saddam, a bitter enemy of Iran, destabilized the Middle East, causing the price of oil to skyrocket and that benefited both Iran and Russia and installed Maliki an Iranian puppet.
