Let see if we can create regulations to keep this from happening again. So she left the car running which produced "carbon monoxide" which could be one of the culprits. So we can make a law that says that you can not take a nap in your car and leave it running. Better yet we can require Auto Manufactures to automatically turn off the car engines if left idle for 5 minutes. We could require all cars manufactured after 1995 to be retrofitted with such a "saftey device" at the owner expense. We will make it a LAW, so we know everyone will abide by it. See.... That is easy... now the fumes from the overturned Gas Can in her car. Well, we know that in most states their are warnings that say you can only dispense gas into "Goverment Approved Containers". So we know she was using a "Government Approved Container" because the law requires it, and no one would ever break the law and use a non Government Approved Container which would not provide a spill-proof cap and lid.. Here is the NJ Code. 12:196-1.6 Portable containers (a) An attendant shall only dispense fuel into a portable container which: Is of sound metal construction or is of approved non-metal construction;Has a tight closure with screwed or spring cover; andIs fitted with a spout or so designed that the contents may be poured without spilling.(b) Portable containers constructed of non-metallic materials shall conspicuously display an embossment by the manufacturer of the logogram of a nationally recognized testing laboratory. (c) Gasoline shall not be dispensed into glass containers. (d) Portable containers intended to hold 10 gallons (0.038 cubic meters) or less and to be used for gasoline or other flammable liquid shall be red in color as specified in the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, N.J.A.C. 5:18. The name of the flammable liquid shall be prominently displayed on the container in bold letters of a contrasting color. So the answer here is quite simple again. We simply outlaw the sale of portable Gasoline Containers, and we can create a new Goverment agency with Government employees who reside at all gas station 24 hours a day to prevent gasoline being dispensed into anything other than a gas tank on a commercially produced "authorized" product. You see.. This is easy stuff.. So pack up your lawn mowers and bring them down to the gas station. You run our of gas driving home??Just call the tow truck to tow you to the gas station. We could save literally dozens of life's each year by instituting these regulations, create a huge Government bureaucracy, which we can fund by adding a 50 cent a gallon "safety tax" on each gallon of gas pumped at the gas station. So maybe the answer is to blame the Gas Can manufacture for "negligence".. that should work out great.. Well, it seems the largest maker of Gas Can's is going out of business due to the cost of Product Liability Insurance.. Why the Largest Maker of Portable Gas Cans is Going Out of Business More American Manufacturing jobs lost again. We can't have people being responsible for the own actions. We need to create a Government system of Nannyism which watches over our every move every moment of the day to protect us.. from ourselves. We won't even go down the road of why many employers don't offer full-time jobs anymore, and she has to work multiple part-time jobs. PCSTEL
