TO ALL---------------
Happy holidays to everyone.Been following the thread and just
thought I would add current pricing outlook.
Todays low ball 16meg pricing is coming in at 2.30 that is for
1x16 edo and 4x4 edo with fpm 1x16 same and 4x4 fpm 2.65.
Brands are pretty much across the board with TXN,LGS,HYU leading
the way.
Sdram holding slightly above 3.00-4.00 and 64meg hovering in the
14-16.00 area.Glut of inventory across the board and next quarter
appears to be bleak as well.
I suspect weak numbers from MU for the quarter but more importantly
I can't imagine the conference call being very positive. We may hear
more about the Asia bailout and how it is affecting the MU bottom
line but unless some other part of the business is going to surprise
there won't be much to hang your hat on tonight.
Regards Jerry

dg- to say the least, I am so disappointed that the street is now looking
for only 9 cents for MU. That really increases the odds of the report
actually "beating the street", thus, looking good.
Bet you five bucks that CNBC wouldn't make a quote like "9 cents,
down from 33 cents last quarter", but will say "nine cents, up from
7 cents a year ago, or 22% increase."
I hope that MU will truefully mention expected losses in
coming quarters. Again, Dan Niles mentioned 6 cents for this
report, and 10 cent loss for MU 2nd qtr ending Feb28. Kudos to
him for the early call. Same for Laslo (sp?) with Paine Webber(?)
calling for 4 cents.
Decisions, decisions. Buy more puts now in case it gaps down
in the morning, or play it conservative and wait until tomorrow
in case the earnings are higher than expected. I assume that you
are doing the latter.
Whoa! MU now back up to 22 5/8. I guess moving up with the
the tech stocks and the market.
Patrick
PS. You mention Soundview. Aren't they the ones that in 95 called
for $10 earnings in 96 and $17 in 97?
