<Let us quit blaming the illegals and focus on our economic policies which allows companies like Burger King do corporate switching. <

Everyone complains that there are too many unemployed, and that the supply of the available work force far exceeds demand in many cases of unskilled workers. We continue to increase that supply via the stream of illegals that cross our boarders every day. Now in theory 8MM working/looking for work, without documentation. This only hastens the supply side and reduces the wage competition as supply outstrips demand.

Illegal Immigration used to be only a "Texas, Arizona, California" Issue back in the 1980's.

Illegals were captive near the boarder because they had to courier money being sent back to their families in Mexico. The supply/demand curve of labor in the restricted border states limited the supply of jobs available. New Illegals could come, but work was hard to find due to the concentrations in the border states. Then money transfer deregulation occurred. Suddenly, you could send $3,000 to Mexico from any WalMart for $7. The restriction was lifted and suddenly, an illegal could move to Omaha, or Louisville, because they could simply and cost effectively transport their money out of the US (we will call it an inversion) and into Mexico at their local Wal-Mart.

Increasing Minimum Wage would only increase the inflows from across the border as the delta between their local wages paid in their native country and the "Minimum Wage" in the US would greatly increase.

<The solution to preventing a Burger King scenario is not lower corporate taxes.<

The solution is to create a competitive environment to keep the tax revenues HERE. 15% of something is better than 38% of nothing. I thought evey one claimed the Major Corporations don't pay any taxes anyway??

Why do they want to move to Canada and pay more taxes at 15%, if they pay nothing here?

Maybe, just maybe, they actually do pay taxes, and the rate they pay IS HIGHER than other developed nations?

The choice is getting pretty easy.. Either 15% of something, or nothing.

If you attempt to restrict them from leaving, then what is next, attempting to restrict the wealthy from leaving? Are you going to pull the passports of all the wealthy to imprison them in the US?

That is one of the reasons why we have two Passports.

At some point the US could restrict it's citizens of possessing "dual-citizenship", that's when we leave.
But, for those that did not plan accordingly will be stuck.
