Well a bigger iPhone sure isn't a secret. Looking forward to a bigger phone, but not sold on the phablet size yet. There's something to be said for handing a phone with one hand and being able to fit it into the pocket of your jeans. Bigger isn't always better. However, better is always bigger, which is Apple's design strategy.

I wonder if Samsung will continue with their incremental enlargement of the Galaxy Note, when the Note 4 comes out shortly. Doesn't make sense to make it bigger, unless they have fewer changes on the inside. A bigger iPhone, on the other hand, should be very well received.

On a happier note, the scale of the 9/9 announcement is mind boggling to me. I just biked through DeAnza college today where the announcement is planned. Apple is building a 3 story building in front of a theater that already houses 4000 people. They also have seem to have a 10 man security detail around the construction site around the clock, so I assume there are secrets in there already :).

I know. The fact that they picked the Mac launch site as the venue would seem telling on its own. Add in a 3 story mystery building and I'm not sure what to think....

Thanks for the on-site report, psylent.

Today, between options and shares about 20% of our portfolios are in AAPL - 80% of that in call options. That is up from 4% of our portfolios at the start of July. My current opinion, unchanged from before the nude photo story, is that Apple’s share price will be significantly higher in April, 2015 than it is today. That is how I am positioned. That does not mean that Apple specific stories or broader market/geopolitical stories will see me holding the calls blindly until sometime into April 2015. It does mean that I think a combination of Apple financial results (the share buybacks go in here) and announced products and services will outweigh most negatives.

So, with a good dose options humility picked up in 2008, and with a dose of “I can probably escape with some of my profits and most of my skin” picked up in late 2012, I plan to ride this wave. As long as the theme song does end up being Wipeout, I think there is a good probability it will turn out well. It certainly has so far.

Has the building changed much from the pix in the story I posted last thursday? Message 29690439
That is, does the building now have color, banners, text?
