SI Dmitry, do you know why the search function is so incredibly slow now? It wasn't in the past - new heuristic? data mining? It's painful...Also, a useful feature, which was that the term searched for was highlighted in the results (in the text), no longer seems to happen ie/ no highlight, which is unfortunate IMO.

That seems like a reasonable fix for now. Thanks.

Dmitry, it would be excellent if you would make subjectmarksold.aspx the default that would appear when we click on "SubjectMarks" until you make the logo thing optional.

I am pretty sure that this would be greatly appreciated by at least 90% of the users of the site. Probably more than that.

IMO you guys made the same mistake Microsoft made with Windows 8, not realizing older users don't like change just for the sake of change.

The solution for SI and Microsoft is too offer 2 versions, a new version with loads of bells and whistles and a classic version for people who are happy with classic, efficient and well thought out interfaces.

I think Knight Sac Media needs to do better demographic research on their members. The average SI member is probably in their mid to late 50 or early 60s. The recent "improvements" are eye candy that would appeal most to little kids. Either I'm missing a great deal or Knight Sac Media has no idea how to cater to this community.

Another new feature as a result of the changes to the 'Introduction' part of threads is that the 'Hide Introduction' part keeps having to be clicked on - the Introduction keeps reappearing. I don't know if that's because someone's made edits to their introduction, and this is why, but having to keep 'hiding the introduction' is not something I want to be doing.

When I started a new post on this page, it took 17 seconds for the post box to resolve it's 'loading'. When instead I did it as a reply to your post, the reply box loaded almost instantaneously. Is this on purpose?

Dimitri,

The logos on the SUBJECTMARKS page stink. I can't believe you don't IMMEDIATELY recognize that 47 people recommended Sam's post and realize how many of us think this was a VERY bad change to make!!

Similarly, making us bookmark old versions of the thread headers and SUBJECTMARKS pages is just dumb. As Ian pointed out, there are simply too many ways in which we get linked to this page. The roar of disapproval should be listened to and while your efforts to add to this page may have had good intentions, the end result laid an egg!!

Also:

The change % column on the SUBJECTMARKS page SHOULD NOT be a link, as it is too close to the NEW column. On cellphones and other small screens it's too easy to be taken to a quote page. You have links to the quote page active on the symbol and price columns, so it it totally unnecessary to have the % change column link you to the quotes.

Thanks in advance.
