After I read this: Message 29695987 Over the weekend came a piece from Matt Townsend of Bloomberg stating that Apple is working with Visa (V) and Mastercard (MA) and American Express (AXP) on the wallet function, citing a single unnamed source. My immediate reaction was that for Apple to get all three of these to agree to let Apple leech onto their core businesses Apple offered them money. Fear about losing their business (just like the music companies) along with money got them all. My guess is Apple payments will cost a bit more than the card companies already charge, and Apple will split the extra with them. Instead of three remora on a huge shark it'll be a huge remora on three small sharks...
