I understand Obama's reluctance to get involved. We can't go around and stop every potential threat from becoming the next harborer of terrorism like the Taliban once was. I already mentioned what I think Obama should have said if he wanted to be non-interventionist. "These videos are horrifying, but we will not get involved in any further Middle Eastern conflicts. We have already sacrificed too many lives and too much money trying to fix the previous problems, and the Middle East is no better off today than it was before we went into Iraq." Then from there, he should closely monitor ISIL and be continually vigilant for any imminent threat to Americans on American soil. If (or when) ISIL becomes a threat to America that's too big to ignore, then we can go in with guns blazing. It's possible that Obama was already pursuing a strategy like that. But his gaffe last week told me otherwise, and his post-gaffe spin doctors are only confirming what I suspected all along. Obama really doesn't have a strategy, long-term or otherwise, in dealing with ISIL and other potential threats to Americans. And it's bad enough that he doesn't have a strategy, but it's even worse when he outright admits it. Now he placed America into a position where we can no longer convey strength of conviction. It's open season now on Americans and American interests. That's something that, until recently, only Obama's right-wing opposition was saying. Now it's confirmed. Tenchusatsu
