INTEL is a good investment, but not better then CPQ at this time. Intel will be dropping prices to keep its volume, just like all the other parts and piece guys. Compaq will be buying from them cheaper and pass on some of the savings to customers, thus increasing their marketr share and will be adding some of the savings to their bottom line. Based on this I believe CPQ is a much better investment then Intel.

Intel a good long term investment ???????

Hard to say. Intel have had its days, and now the competition comes in !!!!!

Got to wait till 1998 o see what may happen to Intel. Continue to drop price as a result of
fierce competition, especially when AMD's wafer fabs comes on line and yield get improved.
Just remember, AMD's CPUs are as good as Intel, and the price is 25 % cheaper. So, as a
PC vendor, whose Chips are you going to buy if Both Intel and AMD can guarantee delivery.
So, if Intel is a long term investment, still need wait and see. Short term , Intel may go to
$60, or even $50, long term , it is uncertain, need to see the performance of its competitors.

Of course, with price of components continues to drop , you all know who will benefit !!!!
