Teri,

I may have the misunderstanding. However, from the conference calls I've listened to, it appeared that "technology" buys were being used by the chipmakers to set up pilot lines, gain experience with new technologies, perfect the new processes, get yields up, etc. Rather than "basic" R&D, I've thought of it as "applied" R&D which will take over the fab floor once yields are up.

I'm open to different interpretations.
