The perspectives of the West, which have for so long dominated the thinking of the Vatican, are being augmented by those of Latin America

There's a really ducky idea; Latin America has long been such a peachy example of lifting the poor out of poverty. That's been true wherever Catholic theology trumped serious economic analysis.

Chile was an outlier in So America, perhaps in part because a Protestant ethic trumped Catholic dogmas. A really nasty thug implemented market liberal policies to wondrous result, though they may there be again succumbing to the evil psychoses of the left.

It's disappointing when a major religion clings to delusions instead of considering what really works.

Hey John,

How's your Noble Peace prize winning president doing these days?

Too many pimples on the elephant's butt?
