>> “The death of Osama Bin Laden marks the single greatest victory in the US-led campaign to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat Al Qaeda,” an official said.

Of course they said it.

But it simply is not true. It was a great achievement in the field of revenge. But had little effect, if any, on al Qaeda, which had long since been decimated by the Bush administration.

It was great that the previous administration pursued him with vigor and ultimately provided the essential information that allowed Obama to claim "victory".

But it did nothing to make Americans safer. He was, after all, relegated to watching reruns of the Andy Griffith show 24/7.
