In this case, Kurlack was the one who started the negativism when he did his thing. He led the pack.

But what has actually changed from when he did this?

Intel keeps rolling along banking $1B here, a $1B there. It starts to look like real money, doesn't it?

New products ramp out the door faster than ever. And into the marketplace faster than ever.

PC market growth is unabated. Cheaper component parts will speed this up.

Business conditions in the US are still benign.

Interest rates are lower and going down - this is good for business expansion and points to greater investment and greater income for individuals. Not a bad thing.

Internet keeps on growing - and growing - and growing.

Kurlack just raised the FUD level. I guess it's always easier to imagine the worst can happen than it is to imagine the best.
