I don't know what you mean by winger hate but it was you who complained that thanks to US weakness [more ODS about Obama], ISIS is getting lots of donations and recruits. However, that was the same problem under Bush/Cheney..........lots of donations and recruits to al Qaeda..........but I never heard you or any other Rs complain that it was because of perceived US weakness. You see how that works................you complain about my winger hate but ignore your ODS. Like I said before, the alliances in the region which ISIS controls and/or threatens are shifting with the wind. Everyone is a "frenemy." Every alliance is made out of convenience. Yes, but Rs are complaining that Obama should have done something in Syria when in fact, conditions on the ground are as clear as mud. Today's Arab Spring becomes tomorrow's ISIS, just like yesterday's anti-communists became today's Al Qaeda. So long as the people of the ME are oppressed and mired in poverty, there will be radical groups like ISIS. Its a given. It's in the face of this madness that we NEED principled leadership, to stand up to what's worth fighting for, and to exhibit strength even as we declare that we cannot be the world's policeman. Obama is principled............but that's not enough. Then our foreign policy won't so easily be buffeted by the changing winds of Middle Eastern politics. (And by politics I cynically include war, a.k.a. "politics by other means.") The ME is a crazy, changing place.......the last thing we need is an inflexible FP.
