Where was all that "energy in the water" last year? One of the most active seasons on record occurred back in 1893, there were 12 tropical storms, 10 hurricanes and 5 major hurricanes. On August 22, 1893 there were four active hurricanes in the Atlantic at the same time. That was 120 years ago.
