" I just agreed with him that climate alarmism is gay"

That's the part you made up, and shows your bigotry. It's in the way you interpret things. It reveals your not-so-inner prejudices. Given the choice between gay and mother, or parent, you went with gay. Since you seem willing to agree with me, how about "climate alarmism is parental" or maybe "climate alarmism is family", so grandparents are included? I'll even go for "maternal".

Is it possible that the words, “global warming,” have taken on the silencing power that “gay” had not so very long ago?

author.."I used to think “I’m gay” were the hardest words I could say aloud...More recently, the toughest truth I’ve had to come to terms with is, “I’m a Mom who is worried about climate change.”

Instead of saying "alarmism is so maternal", you opt for sexuality.

author..."Is it possible that the words themselves have taken on the power that “gay” had not so very long ago? Are we afraid to mention global warming because it might stop a conversation in its tracks, or turn an amiable exchange into something unpleasant?"

We are; don't want Crazy Uncle Joe, the Faux viewer, to go off during Thanksgiving dinner. Become a climate scientist and you get Message 29694966

author "That’s why a small but growing number of parents (organized by Moms Clean Air Force, Climate Parents, Mothers Out Front, and other groups) now feel compelled to do or say something in support of climate action. And that’s why many plan to be at the head of the Climate March."

Doesn't say growing number of gays or gay parents, Lesbian Mothers AF, Climate Gay Parents, etc. Not all parents are gay. Why do you choose to focus on the 1 or 2 percent who are? (Cuz you are a homophobe)

The National Health Interview Survey, which is the government’s premier tool for annually assessing Americans’ health and behaviors, found that 1.6 percent of adults self-identify as gay or lesbian, and 0.7 percent consider themselves bisexual.
