You have to have some form of "Checks and Balances".. In this case. Congress was just too busy planning their vacation to care. Things started to go nuts by 2004 ironically half way into a six year period of total control by one party. Was fascinating to look up the Senate no votes to repeal Glass Steagall in 1999. Only one GOP senator voted no and he was a Dem prior to 1994. Am I correct that you could never have had all that demand for NINJA loans in 2004-06 without the supply side feeding it?
