Of course you are trying to predict - you're just trying to take your emotions out of the equation by employing a mechanistic system. I do the same ... though I probably follow my gut feeling a bit more ... since I have found it to be a powerful tool. Traded my first stock in 76 and my first future in 81 so it would be stupid for me not to listen to my subconscious self ... since there has sure been a lot of market observations during that time frame ... Bonds spiked higher while I was writing my previous post ... Fed injection??? - though now it appears to be tailing off. If equities are to head higher - bonds would likely put in a short term bottom right here - looks like a dicey trade to me - but you can make the case based on the rising trend line that we could be at the bottom of a channel. Bonds close at 3PM EST, let's see how they trade during the last 45 minutes - my guess is they sell off to get things started to the downside ... of course this opinion and 2 bucks will buy you a cup of coffee ...
