Are you implying a link between "search & destroy" and "degrade & destroy"? As military strategies the former was doomed to fail due to the politicalicL interference of a White House. Specially gradual response & Stand down when a false breath through in Paris was on the horizon. You remember, the light at the end of the tunnel... Now a strategy & a new conflict. Turn the DOD loose, fight to win. Pray no mid-air collisions over hostile forces. I do not want to see another American degraded. Keep the White House out of this conflict. I will give the strategy the time to prove itself. Learning from the past is important. Vietnam's failure was in once started, not winning the conflict.
