Carl....I agree. I do, however, feel badly for the guys that lost their shares by margin call. For the others, you lose/gain nothing til you sell!. As H.S.T. said, "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Good Luck, Stephen

I never thought I would write an item in defense of steve

I'd advise Joel to go to post #683, print it out and put on the wall. Between that post and Joel's post #11295 Steve repeated it many times.

Don't want to be accused in taking sides. I think Steve should change in his posts "buy" to "I would buy". Some people take his posts too literaly.

Carl - re But he said he was going to sell his puts this past Friday,
and that is a more bullish sign.

Actually, he said, "I'll sell half of them friday....keep the rest."

Looks like steve made the right call. Keeping half meant that he's made even more money while vacationing in Mexico. -G-

thread ..cpq crashes..
many of you'll remember me saying that cpq crashes all the time and i call of
some of the early ones and then the reply was but only a few crashes recently..
Well, here are facts on that.. These numbers are approximate since it's a weekly
graph.
Daily high and lows will make this even a bigger % and point spread drop.

91-92 25 to 7 pull back 70%

93 almost 20 to 14 pull back 30%
almost 20 to 15 pull back 25%

94 40 to 30 pull back 25%
40- to 30 pull back 25%

95 45 to 30 pull back 30%+
55 to 42.5 pull back 22%
56 to 44 pull abck 21%

96 54 to 36 pull back 30%+
50 to 40 pull back 20%

10 pull backs since 91 and the 9 yrs before that there are 20 more.

20% to 40% pull backs are allot of points.

I see nothing is cpq future to prevent this.. maybe it just happen
5 times the next 5 yrs instead of the 10 times the prior 5 yrs and the 20+ the
prior 9 yrs..

Long term investor would be best to just hold the stock and forget
about these pull backs.
