If you get time, read a good book on Schwartzkopf. His autobiography It Doesnt Take a Hero is great, covers his whole life. His Dad was stationed in the Middle East, Norman lived there with his Dad learning the people. I have a paperback copy, you can get one off ebay for $4, mine is even the large print edition. He knew the people of the Middle East, he showed it working with all of the local leaders in the first gulf war. Sure he's not perfect, but we could use someone like him today.
