What Black Parents Tell Their Sons About the Police

That is a great piece. Everyone should have to read it middle school. And then again in high school. And talk about it as a group. If there are no African Americans in the class, then the school should bring an African American adult in to talk to them. Maybe even a black policeman. Maybe a white one too. Trained in how to talk about this stuff to kids.

I just saw Stanley Nelson's The Murder of Emmet Till. A terrific American Experience documentary. That too should be mandatory viewing. Yeah, I know, stuff like that doesn't happen anymore. What BS.
