REQUEST SEISMIC SURVEYS LTD. TO ACQUIRE PRIME BROKERAGE CONSULTANTS LTD.

CALGARY, ALBERTA

Mr. Todd Chuckry, President and Chief Executive Officer of Request Seismic
Surveys Ltd. ("Request" or the "Corporation"), is pleased to announce that
Request has entered into a letter of Intent to acquire Prime Brokerage
Consultants Ltd. ("Prime") of Calgary, one of Request's largest competitors.
The proposed acquisition will more than double Request's existing proprietary
inventory of seismic data from approximately 3,000 km to 7,400 km.
Proprietary data contributes to the largest percentage of Request's gross
margin (54% of first quarter results ending October 31, 1997). With the
acquisition of Prime, Request will also acquire a 25% interest in Discovery
Seismic Surveys Ltd., a corporation in the business of owning proprietary
seismic information. It is anticipated that the acquisition of Prime will
close in January of 1998. Closing information will be available at that
time.

The Corporation is in the business of providing access to seismic data
information to customers within the oil and gas industry. The Corporation
manages the flow of seismic information for sale purposes on behalf of other
companies, acts as a broker to facilitate the licensing of seismic
information between vendors and purchasers and creates, markets and
supervises the acquisition of new seismic data inventory thereby adding to
the asset base of the Corporation.
