This is a very quiet board so I'll just throw some bytes into the ether.

This is my Peter Lynch stock. I love NASCAR and I love Action products. They sponsored Kenny Irwin Jr. last year in several races. That kid has the potential to be the next Jeff Gordon. He will be driving the #28 Havoline Ford for Robert Yates Racing, who Action now has the marketing rights for. Though many NASCAR fans are onto this, and seem to complain about it,..a common practice is to run special paint schemes, for just one or two races. These generate money through increased sales because fans just gotta have this stuff. Anyway Action had cosponsored Kenny with Hasbro, they had three very cool paint schemes, Tonka Trucks, GI Joe and Nurf. Anyway I can't wait to get a G.I. Joe diecast .

Other important points, the sport is growing! They race from Feb. all the way through Nov. And this year they have no off weekends. A new race, at a different track, with each teams tractor trailer full of collectibles, every race week. The trailers whole side raises up and becomes a walkup store, they arrange them at each track like a big mobile strip mall. And it is always packed!

New NASCAR markets include Texas, Southern California and Vegas.

A new diecast size just introduced is the 1/43 scale. It is really excellent. Previously you had a choice of 1/24, which was about 8" long by 3" wide or a 1/64 scale, just picture a matchbox or hot wheels car. The 1/43 is about 3-1/2" by 1-1/2". Big enough to be able to detail very nicely and small enough that you can put a lot of them on a shelf. I think this will be a succesful product and I plan to collect that size almost exclusively.

Lastly my favorite driver is Dale Jarrett of Robert Yates racing, already got the Action diecast!

Best to all,

Scott
