The classic Greek story of the immaculate conception of Perseus, the son of Zeus & Danae, so famous was this myth most all Hellenized Jews would have known this story inside out. God comes to her in the form of a shower of gold raining down on her. And once again we have to archetype King thats heard a prophesy this child will grow up to kill him, how can this be almost the same verbatim to Jesus & the King Herod story?

Yet the story of Perseus is some 500yrs before

As for the Mary virgin birth, more likely to hide some out-of-wedlock condition because of her humble class , but all women are precious its just the society then was so cruel. So was what ever followed all down thru Christendom, a woman giving birth was literally doomed if not married or from wealthy families that could hide them in convents. In Islam today she will be serverly whipped/caned, imprisoned & even put to death, not much has changed ( you are such a dimwit)

While the upper class used paternity to demonstrate divine sanction to their station, the lower classes used it to hide paternity or elicit affairs. Young women could escape punishment or societal sanction by placing blame for their condition upon a god. Superstitious people would not attack or abandon a woman pregnant with a deity’s child or hurt the child itself. To do so risked angering the gods. In Greek mythology, Zeus destroyed the city of Argos after its king jettisoned the baby Perseus and his mother into the sea.

Only 1 of 100 Christians know what Immaculate Conception means. Nothing to do with virginity. Just means Mary has no "original sin" (HO! HO!) Stamped on her soul. No semen stains on her soul. God laundered everything so the original sin stains did not get passed on when her mommy and daddy did...you know what! That little Mary fetus had a pure, undefiled "soul". Anyway, it is a good story invented by good story tellers--not by scientists!!
