Pine Cliff Energy (PNE-V) top pick from Bill Bonner on BNN.ca Market Call Friday Oct 3rd 2014 @ 1300ET

With the business savvy that built Bonterra Energy (BNE-T), Pine Cliff Energy’s team has earned the markets’ confidence and respect. The two companies share common directors and technical expertise. Unlike BNE, its “oily” relative, Pine Cliff Energy’s strategy is to acquire natural gas assets at reasonable valuations that provide accretive growth per share for shareholders. Pine Cliff Energy’s focus is low cost and low decline reserves. Last year reported an average decline rate of 12% and operating expenses of $1.57 per mcf. The leverage to a rising natural gas price, such that we have experienced over the last 12 months, will make 2014 a hallmark year for the company. Recent acquisitions financed by a recent equity issue render Pine Cliff Energy’s balance sheet bullet-proof. There will be more acquisition activity around the corner which will further underscore the valuation. Should the nat gas pricing dynamics not continue to improve, there will be better pricing for potential acquisitions. Either way, Pine Cliff Energy shareholders will benefit.
