Saying nonsense like 70M is just setting up the straw man for a fail.

5c and 5S. Last year, probably a little over half of the 51m phones shipped in the Dec Quarter were 5S. The lower tier entries seem a lot more compelling this year vs. last so they should contribute 20-25m.

1) There are very few iPhone 6's on the shelves these days
2) The subcontractors can make 600,000 iPhones/day
3) There are 90 days in the quarter

Foxconn is one of two companies assembling the iPhone. Pegatron has been rumored to be supplying half of the iPhone 6 volumes (but none of the 6 Plus). The WSJ article put 6 capacity at Foxconn at 400,000 units a day and 6 Plus capacity at 140,000. They should currently have enough capacity above the 800,000 units a day needed to hit 70 million in a quarter.

Moreover, the iPhone 5S, 5C, 5 and 4S are still going to sell millions of units in the quarter.

The questions about hitting 70m for me arent about capacity but demand. How big a boost to the upgrade rate can the 6 command and how much high-end share can they take from Android?
