I can hear Jobs now --

"You know, people are going to be cramming these things in their pockets and using them as bottle openers and doing all sorts of stuff with them. Look, I can bend it with my bare hands! Would YOU buy this? I wouldn't. Fix it."

This problem is really caused by Apples abandoning of the 4" form which I thought was a mistake.

The 4" 5 was also susceptible to bending. Maybe the problem is more widespread this time, but I kinda doubt it. Nothing like 10 million users to stress test a new phone-- bound to discover a few bad apples that made it though the QC process.
