Of course, Science had not yet totally disproven the bible 200 years ago. Rational people already questioned the contradictions and the immorality of the heroes and especially the Commander in Chief! But it had not yet been SCIENTIFICALLY reduced to an absurdity (and primitive tribal mythology and boastfulness)--as it is now know (without any question or doubt, whatsoever) to be.
