As I sit here shivering in my t-shirt and hoping for a cold winter I decided to see if there was anyone on the thread left standing. Oh yeah, and who was it got huffy when reservations were expressed over lady Rainwater taking the helm? What was that, about 15 points back, or so?

I have noticed heavy insider buying of late - except for the T-Boner who continues to sell (sexist pig, no doubt). Any thoughts? Also, has anyone ploughed through the 8-K yet? Looks ugly at first glance but reading those things is not my forte'.

Happy new year.

Pierre

Noel: I'm sorry that PXD didn't work out for you. I had sat on the sidelines because even on a generous PE ratio, the stock seemed overvalued to me.

The First Call estimated 1998 EPS is now a four cent loss. Ninety days ago, that estimate was a profit of 52 cents.

Looking at the stock chart, it looks like a one-way ride down still. Given the Aian meltdown as well as possible trouble from Europe fixing currencies this year, I don't think it's time jump in. I think we'll have to wait for a bottoming of energy prices first.
