So there's no real source that numbers complaints in the "tens of thousands"? Just a nice round "countless".
There are tools which will take specific search results and extrapolate how many related ones exist. Of course, this doesn't mean just typing "bendgate" and counting every hit as a positive. Using the frequency of documented cases, it's pretty easy to get a good estimate of how widespread the problem is. In seconds, you can manually find many random people posting about it. Example one and two and three. So no, I don't know of a "real source" enumerating complaints, but a quick check of our tools quickly reveals the magnitude. Be mindful that no one has had the phone for long. This isn't a problem that will happen rapidly except in extreme cases. If you have spare room in your pocket and never sit awkwardly or place pressure on the phone as a result, you're probably clear. But if you're like me and you sometimes feel your keys, wallet, or whatever under pressure, you should watch your iPhone closely.
