Thanks for that post, it brought back lots of memories. I used to like the Real Estate Crash thread, where some of those posted as well.

Unfortunately, SI seems to have largely died.

Of course most the excitement has gone from AMD as well, so that unfortunately doesn't help. I only dabble in AMD infrequently, and generally for short duration. I hope your long term calls work out...

IMHO, Intel vs the Foundries is the more interesting semi question these days. Intel had the technology, and the $, but for years management was completely clueless about what was happening in their own field. Now it is pretty clear they are wide awake, but what is not clear is whether they can actually make a plan that is any different than their corporate history. I think not, unless they bring an outsider in to run the place. There is no Steve Jobs in Intel.

Hola, tgptndr...yes I do miss all those posters on the old amd board. Its always been about amds business model and their desire to please all the big PC manufacturers instead of trying to please the end consumer. We now have uninspired PC products with crappy windows versions. Guess what...I'm typing this message on a $100 tablet I purchased from Walmart. I'm just amazed at the mistiming of amd's product mix. I hope they get 2015 right with better product mix.

Keep posting great pretender
